We had such an action packed half term after half term. We were learning about sustainable cities and created some amazing cities that had green roofs, walls, wind farms, solar panels and lots of green space for people to play in.

This half term we are learning about Zero Hunger. We have learnt about the benefits of organic food versus non organic food and created presentations about what we learnt. We have also learnt about how to budget when going food shopping thinking carefully about the food that people need to eat to be healthy and have the right nutrients.

In English we have been reading Street Child, we have learnt about the hardship his family are facing in terms of struggling with money, a place to live and having enough food. We have written scripts of what we think will happen in the next chapter and have acted some of these out.

In maths we have been learning to add decimals up to 3 decimal places, we are looking forward to answering some more problem solving activities with them.

In science we have learnt about the parts of a flowering plant and the life cycle of a flowering plant. Now we are setting up an experiment to determine which variable effects the growth of a plant.

We've had great fun for the start of this half term. We were introduced to our new topic which is all about Life Below Water. So far we've created pictures that show what we think life is like in our oceans. We've looked at Seascapes created by Joseph Turner and have located the oceans of the world and looked at some of the seas too. We are looking forward to learning about the layers of the ocean next.

In English, our new Power of Reading book is Floodland, and it is based near to here. There is a young girl called Zoe that escapes from a flooded Norwich in a small rowing boat who rows all the way to Ely, the only part of England not to be flooded.

In maths we have been learning to multiply 4 digit number by 2 and 3 digit numbers, it is quite tricky but we are getting the hang of it.

What a great few weeks we have had in Pankhurst class. We have learnt all about where the Vikings came from, why they came and what it was like for the Anglo Saxons, who were living in Britain at the time of the invasions. We can fully u
