Talk Homework: Can you draw a portrait of someone in your family?

This week we have been working hard on our self-portraits- we looked closely at proportions and skin tone to draw an accurate representation of an adult who inspires us, some of us are even entering these into a competition! We then used these skills to draw a portrait of us as a King/Queen ready for the coronation celebrations. In maths we have been continuing our learning on measurement- we have used our rulers and metre sticks to measure and have applied this knowledge to ordering and comparing measurement. In English this week we have been working hard preparing our independent write about the witch from Rapunzel. We have written our steps to success and have written sentences about the witch's appearance, behaviours, personality and compared her to other witches that we know. In computing we have been learning how to code with Mrs Jaynes. In science, we have been learning about habitats and food chains. We enjoyed reading a story about Laura who wanted a pet penguin... but knew this couldn't happen because penguins are adapted to the cold and need access to fresh, raw fish! Ask us what other animals Laura wanted and why she couldn't have them as a pet! In RE, we have been learning about how Christians show their belief that Jesus is the saviour- we also learnt that Jesus means 'save us'. This afternoon, we had the opportunity to watch Year 1 and Year3 perform their play- it was amazing, we are so proud of them!

Happy Friday!
