Talk Homework: Discuss ways to look after our environments, including home and school, and how you could make a positive contribution

In maths this week we have been focusing on fractions. We have learnt about halves, quarters and thirds- making sure we recognise the equal parts. Ask us what a numerator and denominator is! We have also been consolidating our arithmetic skills- answering questions applying any of the four operations! In English, we have been unlevelling our vocabulary and writing successful sentences. We have included expanded noun phrases, conjunctions and contractions in some of our sentences... some of us even used a variety of punctuation and fronted adverbials! A highlight in our English learning this week was when we designed our own tower, inside and outside, including activities that would keep us entertained... with just one rule... no technology! This is going to help us write a diary entry next week! In geography, we have been learning the continents and oceans of the world, we have loved discussing different countries, facts, foods and animals within these continents- the world is amazing! In history, we have looked at some primary sources to consider the reliability of these in regards to the Titanic disaster in 1912- ask us about the two different newspapers that we published! We also identified some key events and ordered these. In PSHE, we have been learning about the importance of our school environment and ways we can contribute to making it a clean, safe, happy and resourceful place to thrive! Today we are looking forward to visiting our fantastic school library and reading for pleasure with our friends!

Hope you have a great weekend!
