In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

Friday 16th December

Talk homework: Discuss with your adults what we can learn from the Nativity story.

Spellings: magic, giant, gentle, gem, digit

Archer and Hayden have enjoyed making a Christmas card this afternoon. We used our collage skills to create a nativity scene. In R.E. this half-term we have learnt a lot about the Nativity story. In our class assemblies, we learnt and thought hard about the journeys that Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and the three Wise Men had to make.  We also looked at some Nativity scenes from around the world. Arthur has enjoyed counting the 2D shapes in Christmas pictures in maths this week. We also extended our knowledge of 3D shapes and their properties. We have counted the edges and vertices on a range of 3D shapes. Cohen loved our clay work on Wednesday in art. As part of our global goal, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, we have studied the history of the police force. So in art we made a 3D clay representation of a police badge. We used a range of skills to model the clay and to etch the detail onto the badge. Tilly really enjoyed the clay work. Today in English, we watched a fantastic video of a Christmas advert. In the film a group of wild animals were jumping on a trampoline. There was an unhappy dog watching the animals have fun. The next morning, the dog ran outside and jumped on the trampoline and had a great time. We pretended we were one of the animals and wrote all about the brilliant time we had.

Have a great weekend
