Talk Homework- next week we will be learning more about birds and their habitats. Have a look as you visit places and of course in your own gardens to see which birds you can see. Can you see any nests? Can you identify any of the species of birds?

Talk Homework: Maths - This week we've been exploring numbers on a number track. We played Snakes and Ladders with partners in our class. Play a counting board game at home. Practise counting on from a number and naming the number landed on.
Reading at least 3 times a week and record on Boom Reader. In phonics we practised the tricky words: come, some, all, there, like, here, when, today, what, where. Due to the bank holidays this month, we will listen to your child read once in a fortnight.
Thursday is PE. Please make sure your child has a PE kit with trainers, as we are doing PE outside on the playing field.
Talk Homework- We did a minibeast hunt at Paxton Pits and explored habitats for birds, minibeasts and otters. Explore your garden habitat (or a similar habitat) and see what minibeasts you can find.

Talk Homework-During Collective Worship, Year 4 gave us a challenge to re-think food in our snacks and lunch boxes. We were encouraged to think about packaging and using less plastic, which goes into our bins (or becomes litter on our playground). Discuss with your child what healthy snacks/food they like and how they can bring it to school without creating any litter. We will share your child's ideas with the Year 4 classes!

Talk Homework- Following on from our PSHE lesson this week, discuss safe usage of medicines and careful storage of dangerous household items such as cleaning equipment.

Talk Homework- Chat with your child about what they learnt about first aid from Mr Brocklebank. Discuss medicines and how it must only be given by a grown up as they can read the instructions and be sure it is safe for you to take.

Talk Homework: This week we have been working on our number bonds to 10. 0+10=10, 1+9=10, 2+8=10, 3+
7=10, 4+6=10, 5+5=10. You can practise these number facts with your children at home to help them remember and understand them.

Talk Homework- We will be doing self portraits next week for the Skye Arts Access All Arts Competition. Talk with your child about facial features and where they sit on your face, for example eyes aren't on the top of your head. If you have any recycling, we would love to use it in our junk modelling area. We are especially interested in empty toilet roll tubes.
