In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

Week 7 - Blog 21/10/2022

Firstly, I want to wish all children in Newt class a very happy half-term and to thank them for all of their hard work.

Talk Homework: To discuss how soil is made and how we can help recycle materials that do not decompose.

Reading: Read daily, if possible, and log this on Boom Reader.

Spellings: challenge words: actual, bicycle, answer, circle, enough, earth, island, fruit, often, popular.

Maths: Please continue to use TTrockstars. We have been focusing on our 2 times tables in class as well as dividing by 2.

In maths, we have started to use the column method to help us when subtracting numbers that bridge ten. We had to use our problem-solving skills and patience as this was a bit tricky, but a lot of children have shown excellent understanding by the end of the week.

In English, we have looked at different Greek myths. We read and then performed each Greek myth to the rest of the class. Well done to those that performed, we all enjoyed watching and performing.

We have continued to play matches in both netball and rugby. We have continued to work as a team and how best we can avoid our passes being intercepted in a game.

We enjoyed science this week, we were able to entertain Adder class who got to visit our Newt History Museum. All the exhibits were excellent, Adder class really enjoyed visiting. We also learnt how soil is made and all the creepy crawlies that live in compost.

In DT, we finished our bookmarks and these will be laminated at the start of next half-term for us to use.

Well done Newt class, rest and enjoy half-term ready for the lead up to Christmas!
