In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

Friday 10th November

Talk homework: What do you know about the police? Talk about what you found out about the Watchmen, Bow Street Runners and Peelers

Spellings for next week: Compare: /ou/ /ow/ sounds.

Tricky words: hour. Homophones: hear/here and continuing to learn about apostrophes for possession

We have had a fun packed week in year 2. We have been so excited to read the next part of our English book every session and this week enjoyed writing a letter to Mr Gregg to persuade him to stop hunting and predicting what would happen next (after the girl put the magic finger on the Gregg family).

We have also been working hard practising for our play. The songs are coming on nicely, and we have started to put some dances together.

In maths, we have been adding and subtracting crossing 10, and it’s been great to see children challenging themselves, especially for those who get onto the word problems and have to really think about what the question is actually asking them to do.

Some thoughts from Lennon class:

Ruby: I really enjoyed it when we wrote our letter to Mr Gregg.

Annie: I enjoyed doing our dance for the play.

Byron: I enjoyed doing computing and playing on Numbots.

Rohan: I liked doing maths because we get to learn harder things and be mathematicians.

Ethan: I’ve enjoyed practising our handwriting because it gets our handwriting much neater.
