Please ensure you are logging all reading on Boomreader. We have sent home Letterjoin logins for you all to access our online platform we use within school to help with letter formation at home. Please make sure you are doing at least 20 minutes of Numbots or Doodle maths each week.
The children have been learning about halves and quarters this week and have tried really hard! They have shown great resilience with quarters as this is a tricky concept for them. We are going to continue learning this next week to help consolidate their learning,
In English we have been looking at ‘The Secret Sky Garden’ and the children have had the chance to write a setting description with a focus on using adjectives. They have also been comparing the two characters of Funni and Zoo and wrote some great sentences to show this.
In Art the children have been looking at creating shadows in their drawings and used charcoal to recreate one of Paul Cezanne’s pieces of work. It was a very tricky task but they have all done brilliantly at creating some depth in their final pieces.
In science we have continued to look at plants and we have looked at what plants need to grow and how we can help plants if they are dying. Next week we will be looking at deciduous and evergreen trees.
The phonics screening check is coming up in the next few weeks and so please ensure to keep reading with your children as much as possible and log this on Boom reader.
We will be making musical instruments out of rubbish next week and so if you have any recyclables please could you bring them for next week, thank you!
