In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

9th May 2025

Homework- Reading and recording on Boom reader at least 3 times a week with focus upon red words. The book for next week is 'Off the Beds'

Firstly a huge thank you to all the adult helpers who supported our trip to Paxton Pits this week. I do appreciate it was short notice for this request due to a change of dates from the centre. The children had an incredible day and the weather was perfect. We pond dipped, bird watched, made habitats of a  pond and an otter holt. We hunted for minibeasts, and made nature crowns too. The children were perfectly behaved and so polite and enthusiastic.

In addition to this, we learnt about the Hindu festival, Raksha Bandhan, where the siblings make bracelets called Rakhi for brothers to thank them for protecting them, The children got to make their own bracelets and if they did not have a brother can chose a friend or relative to give them to.

Our art work this week has been observational drawings of mini beasts using pencil line and shading.

On Thursday, we learnt about the history of VE Day. This included hearing about how the children the same age as us were sent to different families as refugees. We also decorated our home corner and listened to music from the 1940's.
