Homework- Reading FFT Success for All phonics text, at least 3 times a week and recorded on Boom Reader. Focus upon the red words in front of the book please.
Communication will be given next week about a trip on 7th May, if any parents are able to help out with this please let us know.
This week has been the introduction of our new topic, 'Down at the Bottom of the Garden'. We have read one of my favourite stories, 'The Bog Baby'. The children listened to the description of the Bog Baby before seeing an image of it and used the details to create their own Bog Baby models.
We also read the story, 'Cinderella's Smile', which reminded us of the visit we had from a dentist last term. We then wrote 4 step instructions using the words; first, next, then and after that as sentence starters.
In art, we have explored the 'Waterlily' series of paintings by Monet and learnt more about his background. We visited the school pond for first hand inspiration and then created sponged painted pieces. They are really beautiful.
In maths, we have been counting beyond 10. We played so many games including counting the number of steps between features in our outdoor area.
We would like to say a huge thank you to the Bilotta family, who so kindly gave their time and effort over the Easter holiday's to paint and revamp our mud kitchen and pirate ship areas. The children have loved it.
