Please check in your child's reading folder as they have a summary of their most recent phonics assessment.

We have found that many children are finding the tricky 'red' words hard to recall. These are in the front of the reading books and are non-phonetically decodable words. We teach these as captial letter names eg. O-U-R = our. Many children know the words when an adults says the letter names but are struggling to do this independently.

The tricky words to focus upon are: is, the, I, of, to, are, was, all, you, said, like, our, to, no, go.

We hope you enjoyed the super hero dance today.

This week we have been revising our phonics and maths to date. We have enjoyed finishing the Easter story and learning about how Jesus was risen.

We did a lot of Science investigations this week including colour mixing with pipettes and food colouring. We also explored flight and propulsion using paper planes, air rockets and parachutes. We have also planted our beans.
