Welcome to Galileo Class Blog!

Friday 22nd June 2018

This week has been Science Week! Year 5 have been working in teams to design and build a boat that can carry marbles (our 'people') from one side of a paddling pool (our 'sea') to the other. We`re building boats as we are reading a book in English called 'The Journey' and it is all about the refugees that escape from their war-torn countries.

Today we tested the boats and the best one went into the whole school final, judged by a real scientist. Our boats were all sorts of shapes and sizes. Some people used propellers, some used motorised oars and other groups used balloons to proper the boats along.

The Year 5 team - Harry O, Harry S and Isaac - came second in the whole school. Jess, Imogen and Tilly won the whole school Engineering challenge too. Mrs Masters was really proud of us all - we are super scientists!

"This week has been amazing!" said Poppy.
