We have had a busy start to the new half term.

In English we’ve started a new book called The Iron Man by Ted Hughes (you might have read it when you were at school, Mr B did!). It’s really good so far, but we’ve only just started chapter two. We are going to be making an iron man that will hopefully be life size – the head is as big as a bedroom! We need to talk about how we can do this.

In maths we’ve been learning about kilometres and metres. We counted steps to find out how long 1km is. How far do you think you could get if you walked 1km towards St Mary’s from school?

In science we’ve been learning about sound. We pretended we were on a CBBC show explaining about how sound is made and how it travels. In the air there are particles that are spread out. When they are made to vibrate a sound travels through the air. The TV shows were really good – one group even got Brian Cox to help (…sort of).

The Learners of the Week since the last update were, Emily, Olivia, James, Bea and Archie. This week was Ya Ting.
