In PE this week we have been looking at travelling across apparatus. This included, sliding, spinning and jumping. Olivia and Matilda really enjoyed their lesson, learning how to land safely.

Shruthi - "I enjoyed art when we used paint to help create texture on our picture"

Mila "I enjoyed art when we drew our workhouses. We looked at cross-hatching and shading using pencil"

Matilda "I enjoyed maths doing adding and subtraction" We used different methods thinking carefully about our tens and ones.

In English this week we have been designing a travelling machine for Zeraffa the Giraffa. The children's imaginations have been going wild, and they have been extremely inventive with their designs.

The children have had a fantastic afternoon today taking part in the Coronation celebrations. Lunch unfortunately had to take place inside as the weather was a little temperamental. Nevertheless, there was a real party atmosphere in the hall and the children enjoyed their picnic lunch, sharing platter with their classmates. After lunch the weather improved, and it was straight outside! All the children sang the coronation song and watched a dance performed by year 1 and a song performed by reception. There was then crown making, face painting and other activities available for the children to choose from. Fun was had by all!

In art and science this week the children have been looking at tomato plants. They have drawn the plant and labelled its parts.

This week in maths the children have started looking at pictograms, paying particular attention to their keys. The children collected data about their favourite colours and then created a pictogram to show their results.

In PE this week the children were looking at travelling. They used the apparatus and investigated different ways that they could travel along, under, through it.

In English, the children have been thinking about their senses and how they can use them to improve their descriptive writing.
