In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

21st April

Talk Homework-During Collective Worship, Year 4 gave us a challenge to re-think food in our snacks and lunch boxes. We were encouraged to think about packaging and using less plastic, which goes into our bins (or becomes litter on our playground). Discuss with your child what healthy snacks/food they like and how they can bring it to school without creating any litter. We will share your child's ideas with the Year 4 classes!

Reading at least 3 times a week and record on Boom reader app. This week's shared reader text on the Success for All website was Let's Do Art for you to share at home.

Welcome Spring! And welcome to our new topic: Down At the Bottom of the Garden. We're learning all about minibeasts and we started our topic with a search for minibeasts in our nature area. We found a lot of slugs, worms, ladybirds and woodlouse. We also have a new 6-legged friend in our classroom -- a stick insect! Well, now two stick insects. The children have been fascinated watching them in their habitat. In phonics we have been learning the digraph ur and reading the story Let's Do Art. In maths we have been practising counting to 20 (and beyond) and revising counting using one-to-one correspondence. We've been practising our song for the Coronation and learned what the coronation is. In PE we are outside on the field and played tag and chase games. We talked about how these are the skills they will need in games like football and netball.

Have a lovely weekend!
