Talk Homework: This week we have been learning about dependency within habitats in our Science learning. Dependency is when a group of plants and animals who live in the same habitat rely on eachother to survive. For example, oak trees, squirrels and foxes all depend on one another to survive.
The squirrel spreads the acorns from the oak tree allowing more oak trees to grow, the squirrels depend on the oak tree for their food and shelter, and the fox depends on the squirrels to survive.
The fox also depends on the oak tree as without them, there would be less squirrels to eat, and the oak tree also depends on the fox, as if foxes didn't eat squirrels, they may eat all of their acorns and no more oak trees would grow! Can you think of any other examples of dependency within a habitat, for example, the ocean?

Another week has passed, where is the time going!?

In English we have written a diary entry in role as the last wolf/lynx/bear talking about how our habitat has changed since the good old days. The children blew us away with their independent writing!

In Maths we have persevered with subtraction crossing ten - we have been learning how to exchange using resources and drawing numbers to show our workings. The children have found this quite a challenge and we will be revisiting it again to continue our practise!

In Computing the children used a binary tree to sort information into groups, and enjoyed challenging eachother to guess their animals based on their features!

The children loved PE this week where we challenged them to recreate a face made of different equipment using a diagram to help them. They had to work as a team and be super speedy to win!

We will be sending home your child's play part information including costume ideas next week, and a date will follow for our Year 2, Year 4 production of Project Planet!

Have a lovely weekend.
