Talk homework:
Next week will be Science Week. We will be exploring the following scientific strands: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Can you do a scientific experiment at home and think of a way to share it with the class? You can create a poster or even a video, which you can email to the school. We look forward to seeing your experiments!
Please continue to read with your child a minimum of 3 times per week.
This week we travelled to China. We learnt about pandas and watched a wonderful video explaining how to paint them. We listened to Chinese instruments and watched some lovely dancing. We also had a go at writing our numbers to 10 in Chinese script.
In maths, we have been counting to 20 and beyond. We made collections of 20 in our Nature Area and it was also a great opportunity to do some litter collecting, too. We have used the Rekenreks, which are a little like an abacus. The children were quick to recognise the groups of 5 in the colours and find totals to 20.
In PE we practised javelin and wow could some children throw a long distance!
