Homework club on Tuesdays for those who have not completed 45 minutes of DoodleMaths during the week or handed in their Spelling sheets.
Thank you for your amazing support with No Rules Day. We all had fun in our hoodies and cuddling our toys.
This first week back, we are about to finish the Boy at the Back of the Classroom and the children in the story have been on some crazy adventure that made us all a bit worried for them!
In fractions, we are learning to add mixed numbers, ask us how to solve 4 wholes and 2 fifths add 2 wholes and 4 fifths.
We have travelled back to Africa to learn about the Ancient Benin from Nigeria. We are curious to find out why their kings wore masks.

Reading - around 15 minutes a day to maintain and build up our stamina
Easter Quiz – all the children have been given an Easter Quiz - each question will win the children a Positive Point as they are showing perseverance in their Maths journey. This is not homework, it is entirely optional but highly recommended.
This week:
We used our knowledge of news article to write about the ferocious Battle of Watling between Boudica and the Romans.
In Science, we created wind pipes to learn about how pitch is affected by the length of the instruments.
Fractions has been our main focus in Maths and we explored how we turn mixed numbers into improper fractions to answer addition and subtraction questions.

During this sunny week, we have read our class reader book outside and found out more emotional details about Ahmet's family. We also suspect that Brendan the bully is behind the Plant Pot Murders!
We are delving more into fractions - ask us about ordering mixed numbers.
On the playground, we have re-enacted the battle between Boudica's tribes and the Roman army at Wattling Street.
In the classroom, we have listened to the volume and found out which decibel is manageable or unpleasant to our ears.
Key dates: Grafham Meeting after school on Thursday 19th in Mrs Farmer's classroom. Children are welcome to come to the meeting so they can familiarise themselves with the process. Children in Boss are also welcomed.

Ruby enjoyed PE where we played on the gym bars and the gym equipment.
In English, Alfie is finding the CLPE English reading book very exciting and we are writing a newspaper report on the major event that happened in the playground - ask us about what happened!
Tom found the pointillism artwork intriguing where we created an image of an eye using an ear bud.

In Science, we sought out sounds and their sources outside on the field to help us understand how being close to the source impacts the volume of a sound.
In English, we have delved further into our reading book and discovered that Ahmet is a refugee and how the Narrator has been trying everything possible to become friends with Ahmet.
In Maths, we have consolidated long multiplications (236 x 7) and starting the 'bus stop' method to division ( 369 divide by 3).

We have started our new and exciting English class reader - The Boy at the back of the Classroom. Today, we have drawn up the main characters and learnt about the dangers of rumours.
In Maths, we are getting comfortable with long multiplication - ask us how to answer 56 x 3.
This half term we are learning about sound and how vibrations are created and travel to our ears.
