What a week it has been.
The children have shown remarkable resilience while completing their PIXL assessments. These assessments, taken once each term, offer us valuable insight into the children’s individual learning needs. By analysing the results, we can tailor our teaching to address any gaps in understanding and ensure every child continues to progress with confidence.
In our history lessons, the children have been delving into the life of Captain Cook and his voyages across the oceans. This week, we explored the motivations behind his decision to leave the UK and pursue a life of exploration. By examining his early experiences, his naval career, and the state of the country at the time, the children gained a deeper understanding of what drove his passion for discovery.
The children have also begun creating their clay fish inspired by the artist Scarpace. Their creativity has been wonderful to see. Using their design plans as a guide, they have crafted pieces filled with intricate patterns and bold ideas. We are excited to see their work come to life even further once they are painted with ceramic colours and fired.
