    Home Learning

Please ensure that you are logging all reading with your child on Boomreader, if there are any words or sounds they struggle with add these so we can help them within their learning.

Please ensure that your child does their Doodlemaths, an assignment will be added every Friday for them to complete, we are able to analyse any gaps they have and address this within our learning.

We have some spellings to support their phonics learning, we are currently looking at the 'oe' sound. Please practice these over the weekend for an informal test next week.

With the looming Phonics check after half term please ensure you are reading and logging on Boomreader so we can support on tricky words and sounds.

The children have had a fantastic week this week. Within our maths learning we have moved onto looking at money. We have mainly focused on 1p, 2p, 5p and 10p. The children have had great fun looking at how to calculate bigger sums like 1p + 2p + 5p + 2p. They have really enjoyed being hands on with the coins and understanding the value of each amount of money. Their doodlemath homework will help consolidate their learning from this week.

In our English our book moved on - we looked briefly at what a stereotype is. Faruq was cross as his Grandma 'Ajee' said that he was not allowed to be a chef and must become a doctor like his father. The children wrote some fantastic letters as if they were Faruq to their Grandma to change her mind.

Our phonics this week we have been looking at the 'ph' sound. The phonics check is the 2nd week back after half term. Please ensure you are reading with your children and logging any sounds/words they struggle with as we help break it down for them. A great free resource which prepares them for looking at both alien and real words is phonics play - just select Phase 5 games and they can have a go.

In our Science we looked at how we can understand the different between evergreen and deciduous trees. Our art we have put all of our skills we have been learning throughout the year into our final project of the term and the kids had a great afternoon completing that. Our French focus has been on learning our superhero's but focusing on colours and understanding the different colours in French.
