Please ensure that you are logging all reading with your child on Boomreader, if there are any words or sounds they struggle with add these so we can help them within their learning.
Please ensure that your child does their Doodlemaths, an assignment will be added every Friday for them to complete, we are able to analyse any gaps they have and address this within our learning.
We have some spellings to support their phonics learning, we are currently looking at the 'oe' sound. Please practice these over the weekend for an informal test next week.
With the looming Phonics check after half term please ensure you are reading and logging on Boomreader so we can support on tricky words and sounds.
A very exciting end to the week celebrating David Attenborough's birthday - not just any birthday but his 100th!! The children created some fantastic posters and enjoyed learning about his life. We had many discussions around animals and children watching him on TV.
In our English we have been looking at Faruq's relationship with his Grandma and the children were sad to find out that after being in love with his Grandma's cooking, she said he could not be a chef and must become a doctor. We are excited to see what adventure is to come.
In our maths we have started counting in 2s, 5s and 10s please practice this over the weekend ahead of us looking at money next week. The children have picked up counting in 2s and 5s but finding counting in 5s hard. We spoke about 2s are even numbers, the 10s are normal counting just add a 0 and 5s end in either a 0 or a 5.
Our Art was a firm favourite this week we explored using charcoal to help with our texture and tone whilst studying Paul Cezanne's oranges and apples, the children worked in silence showing true determination. In our history we have been comparing farming over the years and seeing how it has changed from the Tudors, Victorians and now.
