This week in shared reading we have read and discussed Jazz in the Sun. We are sending home the FFT book Ben Gets to Bed to practise for next week. Please listen to your child read a minimum of three times during the week and log all reading on Boom Reader. This week we have learnt the digraphs sh, th and ng and the red words so, no and has.
Doodle Maths - complete 30 minutes
Three-Minute talks begin next week and please send your child in with a wooden spoon to bring their wooden spoon puppet design to life!
This week in maths we have been learning number bonds to 4 and 5, using the stem sentence 4/5 equals __ and __. In PE we are continuing to develop our multi-skills in PE and we started designing our spoon puppets for DT. We had a lovely time exploring light and shadows and determining which materials make the best shadows in Science. In music we finished our Row Row Row Your Boat lessons, changing the words to the song to match different types of transport. We practised retelling the story of the Gingerbread Man using a story board. We continue to go outside, rain, snow or sunshine, so please do make sure there is a change of clothes in your child's bag in case they get muddy or wet whilst experiencing our changeable January weather.
