  • Friday 13th February

    • Please complete the tasks set for you on SATs Companion.
    • Remember to read for a minimum of 20 minutes a day with 3 of these sessions reading aloud to an adult.
    • Make sure you know your spellings from this week and are ready for our quiz after half term.  The words this week are:  popular, interior, computer, radiator, calendar, soldier, shoulder, particular, customer, superior.
    • Log into Doodle Maths for 10 minutes a day in order to keep your arithmetic skills sharp!
    • Please find attached the Year 5/6 words which you need to be able to use and spell.  Please familiarise yourselves with these and ask an adult at home to quiz you on a few each day.

Florence:  I enjoyed Cross Country Interhouse this morning.  It wasn't as competitive as I thought it would be.  It was more about challenging yourself to do your best and enjoying running together.

Connie:  This week we have written a balanced argument debating the question:  Is it right for a government to tell people how many children they can have?  This was an interesting question and there isn't an easy solution to the problem of a rising population!

Natalie:  In Art we got to finish our paintings which have been inspired by David Hockney's work.  My piece showed a swimming pool and a building and I was proud of what I achieved.

Ivy:  I was selected to take part in the Maths Quiz - along with a few other year 6 children - we answered some challenging Maths questions, competing against other schools.  It was lots of fun but also quite hard - I felt we worked well as a team.
