Homework: Spellings and grammar homework for Wednesday (although, bough, enough, rough, though, toughen, tough, plough, dough, doughnut), DoodleMath Assignments and reading 20 minutes fives times a week.

This week we've started sawing our wood to build our sustainable buildings next week. Pupils decided in their groups what recycled materials they would need to bring in, and each one is responsible for certain items (please discuss with your child as they will know what was decided). We will be finishing the projects from Tuesday so please start to bring in materials from Monday to ensure it's ready.

This week, we started learning about volume compared to area and perimeter and completed our video adverts for our sustainable cities in computing. We've also begun writing a newspaper report based on our class book.

Please continue to encourage your children to read more at home. Too many pupils are coming into school without books to read or changing their books partway through, resulting in a record few having completed AR quizzes this term. This will have an impact on their progress, especially in reading comprehension. It's incredibly important that they read most nights, ideally to an adult, to support their progress across all subjects. We are very grateful for your support in this matter. Buckden library is rich with appropriate books on AR if your child is struggling to settle on a book in school.

PE next week will be Monday and Tuesday, with interhouse hockey on Thursday, so PE kits can go home then. Please reinforce our reminders for your child to bring their PE kits home (we have a pile of abandoned trainers in the cloakroom that would love to see their way home this half-term).

    Have a lovely weekend.
