We have had a really lovely week in school despite this nasty sickness bug. We really hope our friends who have been feeling poorly are on the mend – we definitely missed you!

We have written our poems describing Jim's experience as he escaped from the utterly miserable workhouse. It was a real pleasure watching your children become poets. Our maths has also been very successful and the children have all worked so hard on their multiplication skills. On Thursday afternoon, we had a fascinating presentation by the Local History Society about Buckden during the Industrial Revolution. We learnt so much about what Buckden was like at that time and how innovative new machinery was not welcomed by everyone! We have continued our learning of Buddhism, and today we read stories to identify which story told us about which Noble Truth. We know that the Monkey Trap told how Buddhists believe that greed is the cause of suffering. We also continued to read Street Child, which is keeping us all gripped to find out what will happen to Jim next.

The highlight of this week was definitely our Christmas dinner. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard in the kitchen to make our feast of a dinner!

    Have a good weekend
