Homework: SPAG, DoodleMath/Tables, Spellings - potential, essential, substantial, influential, residential, confidential, preferential, torrential, circumstantial, impartial

This week in Year 5, we've been using subordinate clauses and conjunctions to make our comparative writing more interesting to read as we research the early Mars rovers and Curiosity. In Maths, we continue to get a deeper understanding of decimals to hundredths using measurements and in History we explored education in Africa during pre- and post- colonisation.

In Art, pupils have finalised their designs for their collage and should be coming home to source their material. They've been asked to prepare any materials that might need cutting with craft knives at home as they'll only have school scissors to work with. Any ingredients that contain nuts or chilli should not be sent to school please. Fabric, natural resources, card, pre-cut pictures etc are all good resources. Wordsworth will be experimenting with their materials on Monday; Milligan on Friday and both classes will be building their collages the following week. If you have any questions, please find Mrs Schmidt next week. The collages are inspired by Jeannie Baker, in case it helps to shed light onto the style of work and materials they'll need to use. https://www.jeanniebaker.com/
