We’ve had another fantastic week in Thunberg Class and have worked really hard across the curriculum!

In English our Power of Reading text is 'One Day on our Blue Planet, In the Savannah'. This week we have been learning in more detail about Lions and other animals in the African Savannah. On Monday, we got into character and role-played lots of different animals in the African Savannah – we had Lions playing, drinking and sleeping; a chase between a Crocodile and a Bird; Monkeys swinging in the trees and a Lion catching her unfortunate prey! We then put all of this into writing by describing what different animals do in their habitats. In Maths this week, we have continued to practise using  >  < and = to compare 2, 2-digit numbers, and we’ve moved on to ordering a group of numbers in different ways. In Global learning we are studying Goal 15 Life on Land. We have really loved talking about saving our trees and why trees are so important. In French we have been learning the numbers from 11 to 20 now that we are more confident in our numbers from 1 to 10 – the children have enjoyed practising this! In R.E. we have learnt about the Creation Story in more depth and linked this to our Art learning where we drew what God created on each day. We have been looking at agility and movement in P.E, where we practised ducking, dodging and moving around in different ways, and around different obstacles, as well as practising our underarm throw and batting skills with Miss Lizelle! In Science, we have been sorting and classifying animals from our Power of Reading text into lots of various groups, such as animals that fly, animals that live on land, animals that eat/don’t eat meat, and the children even came up with some categories of their own!

Have a fantastic weekend!
