In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

Friday 28th June 2019

All the children have enjoyed developing their scientific enquiry skills this week through engaging with a range of experiments and workshops.

There has been a wonderful atmosphere and buzz in the classroom as we have explored and learned together.

It has been fantastic to see children supporting  one another and encouraging each other with their learning.

   SCIENCE WEEK

At the beginning of the week we started by identifying and comparing different plastics. Testing the different properties of each plastic.

Writing about the  Life story of a plastic bottle .

Everyone enjoyed the Bio- plastics Workshop on Wednesday.

Then our Investigation Day started . We asked the children to think about how they could test the strength of a plastic bag.

The children wanted to test if the plastic bag could hold one large water bottle.

Could the plastic bag hold 5 full milk bottles?  Through these investigations the children were encouraged to experiment and present their findings.

Learning from different designers and makers the class then created their own designs using  repurposed plastic.

our favourite designs were kites and wind spirals which we loved testing out on the field.

F. J. " I enjoyed the assembly all about plastic and recycling. I feel good because we recycle at home. "

K.P. " I enjoyed painting and making my kite. "

J.C. " I enjoyed finding out about and writing about the journey of a plastic bottle. "

F.C. " This was a brilliant week for me because I love science."

WE ARE ALL GOING TO TRY AND REUSE PLASTIC CONTAINERS.
