In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

Friday 28th June

Science, science and more science!

I enjoyed making my model jetpack (RL)

We made some bracelets out of old carrier bags which was fun (RW)

On Wednesday we carried out an investigation to test which of the carrier bags was the strongest. Our group decided to fill up some plastic bottles with water and see which of the carrier bags could hold the bottle for the longest. Some of our predictions were correct but others were not (IS)

On Thursday we designed something new that we could make out of the plastic in our classroom. We had to think about what we could make, how to make it and if it would be useful. I made a brilliant plastic broom (SS)

On Tuesday as part of a whole school engineering challenge we had to build the tallest tower that we could using just newspaper and 2 metres of masking tape. Ours was by far the tallest in our class but it was a little bit wobbly and kept falling over (but it never broke). When we compared all of the towers, there was one in reception that would have beaten ours anyway! (NJ)

We investigated all of the plastic that we had collected, feeling and looking at them. We tested to see if they were transparent, translucent or opaque and how strong they were (BB)
