In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

3rd March 2023

Talk Homework- We will be doing self-portraits next week for the Skye Arts Access All Arts Competition. Talk with your child about facial features and where they sit on your face, for example eyes aren't on the top of your head. If you have any recycling, we would love to use it in our junk modelling area. We are especially interested in empty toilet roll tubes.

Reading at least 3 times per week and recording on Boom reader.

Yesterday, we loved our World Book Day celebrations. We shared our stories and ate marshmallows and drank hot chocolate. In the assembly we watched the teacher's pets read stories and we had to guess the story and the voice.

Our super hero artist this week has been Giacometti. He is a Swiss sculpture who creates pieces based upon the human form. The children used tin foil to create their own pieces.

We read the story 'Super Daisy' by Kez Gray. We then created our own costume design plans. Next week we will be creating similes for our hero characters like in the story eg, as strong as an elephant.

Our maths has been learning all about time. We learnt the days of the week, used vocabulary- yesterday, today and tomorrow. We have also planted beans to watch and see how they grow over time and help us to use the vocabulary we have been focusing upon.
