Talk homework: Can you find examples of things at home where levers, pulleys or gears are used.

Another busy week in year 5. We have been enjoying gymnastics this half term and this week we practised 'sticking the landing'. This has involved having good control of their bodies and testing it out by jumping off apparatus of different heights. We had some very determined children jumping even when they were nervous!

Friday has been a day of history where we learnt about ancient Maya. We learnt a bit about how their society was structured and were completely amazed at their cities. At the end of the day we had a go at a ball game they played where you couldn't use your hands or feet!!

Next weeks spellings: As we discovered in the last lesson, there are many ways that the grapheme ‘ough’ can be pronounced. This list will look at words with the /ow/ sound.
