Friday 2nd October

Please complete the tasks set for you on SATs Companion.  Remember to read every day for a minimum of 20 minutes at home, with one of these sessions a week reading aloud to an adult.  Spend 10 minutes a day on Doodle Maths questions, as well as completing the task set for you.  Our spellings this week are: antisocial, beneficial, crucial, facial, racial, special, superficial, official, artificial, social.  Make sure you know these and are ready for our quiz on Monday.

Please find the timetable attached for our 3-minute talks.  Make sure you are ready to present your talk when it is your turn.

Liv:  I enjoyed playing NFL on Thursday.  We are preparing for an NFL Competition where we will be competing against other schools in the local area.  I feel I understand the game and the rules much better than I did this time last year.

Mattie:  This week we have been introduced to the 500 Word Story Competition.  I enjoyed listening to the Live Lesson where we thought about our characters and started thinking about the plot for our story.

Hayley:  In Science this week we did an Investigation where we built a case for an egg to protect it, when it was dropped from a height.  We talked about fair testing and dependent and independent variables.  This investigation was linked to what we had learnt about how woodpeckers' brains are protected in their skulls so that they don't get concussions.
