Doodle Maths: Well done for all of your hard work. Some of our students have increased their maths levels by over 3 years since they started the programme of learning!

Reading: Please get your child to read to you every day. This will help your child's understanding of all subjects.

Spellings: adventure, creature, researcher, moisture, puncture, temperature, sculpture.

This week, we were fortunate to welcome Georgie’s father into school. As a farmer, he brought along one of his impressive tractors, giving the children the chance to explore its size, components, and uses up close. They were amazed to learn that a single new wheel costs £11,000 and that a brand‑new tractor can cost as much as £250,000. Even more astonishing was discovering that the tractor weighs the same as all 350 pupils combined and can even be driven by satellite without a driver.

In Maths, the children have continued to shine. Their work on multiplication and division has been outstanding. They’ve grasped sharing and grouping brilliantly and are confidently recognising the connections between the two operations.

In Geography, we explored a case study on Happisburgh, a village severely affected by coastal erosion. The children learnt how the loss of land and homes has forced the community to adopt a strategy of managed retreat, as traditional coastal defences are simply too expensive, with 1 km of sea wall costing up to £6 million. During a class debate, the children thoughtfully chose managed retreat as the most sustainable solution, proving they are well on their way to being future members of a local government panel.
