Friday 16th January

Home Learning

Please ensure that you are logging all reading with your child on Boomreader, if there are any words or sounds they struggle with add these so we can help them within their learning.

Please ensure that your child does their Doodlemaths, an assignment will be added every Friday for them to complete, we are able to analyse any gaps they have and address this within our learning.

We have some spellings to support their phonics learning, we are currently looking at the 'i-e' sound. Please practice these over the weekend for an informal test next week.

Bone, froze, home, spoken, episode

The bone was frozen at home.

Within our phonics learning we have been looking at our split diagraph 'o-e' and have explored the book Yig's Trombone.

English we delved into the adventure of Anna and crocodile, we decided to make our own adventure map and decide where we think they will be going. We acted out our adventure and the children used the map as a stimulus for their writing, the wrote beautiful sentences and should be very proud of their work.

In maths we have been exploring how to do addition and subtraction. The children found it hard completeing the subtractions but when they were reminded to use the resources they have well and truly blown us away - they have been working so hard.

In science we looked at what a mammal is and spoke about a few of our favourite mammals. The children had a great time making their very own mammal, using their knowledge of what quantifies the animal to fit into the category.

In history we explored old vs new ocean equiptment which the children found fascinating. In our geography we looked at the weather in the Arctic and they designed their own Arctic explorer outfits and answered challenge questions.

Reminder: Safari Stu is on 10th February, please go onto Arbor > Trips - to pay.
