Dear Parents, 

Each year group will be holding a Koinonia Day this academic year and Year 5’s will be the last day of this term - Friday 19th December at 2pm. It’s an opportunity for pupils to share what they have achieved with the community and they get very excited to share their learning with parents. We do hope you will join us. The session will run from 2 - 3.15pm and pupils can be signed out once you are finished or picked up at the usual time. 

As part of our Global Neighbour’s project, Year 5 have chosen to raise money to buy textbooks for the Jubilee School in Kenya. Last half term, whilst learning about education around the world, they had the enlightening opportunity to visit a Kenyan school via Zoom. They got a tour by the Headteacher and spoke to some of the students. They wanted to say thank you to the school community by raising funds to support those pupils’ education - when asked, the Headteacher said they could really do with more textbooks. As a result, Year 5 will be creating items to purchase on Koinonia Friday.

As part of their Lino printing project, they will be creating a pack of 5 printed cards to sell for £5 (the cost of a textbook). So we can prepare these for you ahead of Friday, you can pre-order the pack via Arbor under School Shop. 

They will not be available to purchase on the day, but will be given to take home. Orders will need to placed before Friday 5th December to enable time for the extra printing to be completed.

We really hope you can help support the fundraising efforts of Year 5, purchase a textbook for a Kenyan child at Christmas and join us in celebrating the children’s efforts on Friday 19th.
