The first week back has been lovely. The children came back as keen as ever and ready to complete their last term in year 3.
We are continuing to read and work on our book 'Lob', which we started last term, because the children are enjoying it so much and really want to finish it. This week the children wrote a letter to Lob in the role of Lucy, and we were all very impressed with their writing. In maths, we have covered a few topics this week, including telling the time to the nearest minute, subtracting two three-digit numbers and adding and subtracting fractions. In science, we will be studying 'Light' this half-term, and we have already thought about how light affects what we see and different light sources. Today we had a very interesting informative discussion about medicines and drugs. We considered how harmful or helpful drugs can be. In art, we learnt about American artist Grant Wood and started to look at his artwork. Gymnastics this afternoon was a great end to the week. We built on our previous unit of work and recalled all of our prior knowledge of balance positions. We really do have a talented year group when it comes to dancing and gymnastics. The creativity shown in the methods of travelling and the teamwork in the balanced paired-work was impressive.
We hope you have an enjoyable and relaxing weekend.
