    Homework- Read and record at least 3 times on Boom Reader 'Toad in the Rain'. Complete the assigned tasks on Doodle maths. Do not worry about completing enough time to stay in the green if the content is becoming too complex. We will no longer be awarding certificates for most stars as there is not enough content within their Early Years section and the level of maths is now too hard for many as it is moving children to year 1 and 2 content.

    Request for toilet roll tubes for next week to make super hero cuffs please.

    Homework: Read Up the Tree at least 3 times and record on Boom Reader. World Book Day is Thursday, 5th March. Your child can come to school dressed as a word, for example "sparkling", "rainbow", "sporty", "artistic". Please make a label of the word for them to wear on their front. Please can your child also bring a copy of their favourite book with their name written in it as we will share them with each other throughout the day.

    Complete the assigned task in Doodle Maths.

    This week we have read the story Super Daisy and the Peril of Planet Pea as part of our topic this half term, superheroes. We experimented with magnets and explored ice and water with frozen vegetables!

    In maths, we have learnt to compare length, width, height and breadth. We've been practising using the vocabulary of this type of measure.

    In phonics, we have used the igh trigraph and read the story The Train Set.

    Our art has been Giuseppe Arcimboldo and we made portraits using fruit and veg cut outs as well aas practising with real fruits and vegetables.

    We have started our dance unit in PE and we're learning transport in French.

    Complete the assigned task on Doodle maths. Children are asked to spend 30 minutes a week on Doodle Maths.

    Read the Partner Practise book printouts that have been sent home with your child. This is to revise the digraphs we learnt last week: ng, th and sh. A copy of last week's reading assessment has been sent home with your child.

    Homework-

    Complete the assigned task on Doodle maths linked to measurement and do a total of 30 mins to stay in the green.

    Read the book 'Sock Shopping' and make at least 3 Boom Reader logs please.

    In your child's bag, you will find a Big Bird Watch challenge which is for you to do for an hour at some point this weekend. We will be talking about what your child has seen so please return the tally photo sheet of bird species and you can submit the data to the RSPB using the form given.

    Walk to the Towers on Tuesday- please ensure your child has warm clothing for this and if you have offered help we look forward to seeing you then for a lovely Wintery Walk.

    This week in shared reading we have read and discussed Jazz in the Sun. We are sending home the FFT book Ben Gets to Bed to practise for next week. Please listen to your child read a minimum of three times during the week and log all reading on Boom Reader. This week we have learnt the digraphs sh, th and ng and the red words so, no and has.

    Doodle Maths - complete 30 minutes

    Three-Minute talks begin next week and please send your child in with a wooden spoon to bring their wooden spoon puppet design to life!

    Two Success for All Phonics texts have been sent home with your child: A Trip on the Tram and Jazz in the Sun. Please listen to your child read from both of these texts a minimum of three times during the week and log all reading on Boom Reader. This week we have learnt the digraphs zz, qu and ch and the red words his, be, me.

    An email has been sent to all parents with a rota for the Three-Minute Talk. If you did not receive the email, please let your child's teacher know and we'll make sure you get a copy.
