Talk Homework: Have a look around your house and see if you can spot any houseplants. Think carefully about what plants need to survive. Ask your family if they have a spare houseplant that you can bring in for your classroom.

This week we have been performing our play- The Big Green Adventure. We have already performed in front of Lower School- it was so exciting, especially with our costumes! In maths, we started to add a two-digit number and a one-digit number with regrouping- our number bonds to ten really helped us! In arithmetic, we have become more confident recalling our number bonds to five and to ten. In English, we continued reading The Last Wolf and were really shocked how small the forest was because of all of the houses which had been built around it. We also wrote a letter, which we will send to the local council, explaining the impact of cutting down trees for houses on people, animals and the environment. This taught us that housing developments destroy natural habitats and animals can struggle to find food. In DT, we have been building our bug houses using wood and nails- we now have a square structure. It has been really exciting learning how to use REAL hammers safely. We are building micro habitats for minibeasts so they can have a safe, comfortable place to live.

‘I have enjoyed maths and learning my number bonds’ – Ronnie

‘I really liked doing the play, especially singing. My favourite song is ‘It doesn’t pay to be a tree!’- I also love my costume!’- Daisy

Happy Weekend!
