In the eyes of God, every child matters, every moment of every day

Friday 17th December 2021

All of the staff in Year 1 (Miss Freeman, Mrs Romaine, Miss Kelly, Mrs Walton and Miss Shad) would like to say a huge thank you for all of the wonderful gifts that you sent in for us, we have been thoroughly spoilt and look forward to using our goodies over the Christmas holidays.

lease Well, we've (just about) made it! What a chaotic end to a fantastic and extremely busy term! We would like to personally thank you for all of your hard work and constant support at a very tricky time - the children have coped immensely well with the changes that we have had to put in place over the last few weeks.

We are so happy to let you know that Mrs Romaine is on the mend, and we look forward to welcoming her back in the New Year after a restful Christmas Break (which goes for all of you, too!). We would like to thank the staff and the children for stepping up to support each other and hope that we can look towards a new sort of normality in the Spring Term.

We are also very excited to welcome Miss Fox to Willow Class in the Spring Term to cover Miss Freeman's Maternity Leave, she has been working in class with the children over the past few Wednesday's spending time teaching the children and getting to know them better, and is very excited to get in and get started!

I (Miss Freeman) would like to thank the children and parents who I have had the pleasure of working with this term for a fantastic start to the year. I am so, so sad to be leaving you all - I have loved every minute of getting to know you and spending time learning with you, you are an incredible group of children and I will miss you all so much - just know that I am having to tear myself away from school at the end of today, and will find it very difficult to stay away! As the children requested, when my little one arrives I will be sure to bring him/her in to meet you all, give you all a squeeze and see how you are getting on which I am so excited for!

Please, please enjoy a restful, peaceful, work-free Christmas break. Take every opportunity to spend time with loved ones and make memories, and be sure to eat lots of yummy food, drink lots and be merry!

We look forward to seeing you back on the 4th January ready for another busy term full of fun and learning! Please see our newsletter and note the change in PE days - Wednesday will be indoor PE and Fridays will be outdoor PE, so please ensure that you send your children into school in appropriate clothing on these days. Thank you!

Best wishes and stay safe,
The Year 1 Team

P.S Please see attached the Home Learning for the first week back, week commencing 4th January 2022. Hopefully you won't need it, but it is here just in case.
