Talk Homework: learn the lyrics for Mary’s Boy Child.

In English we have been reading about The Iron Man. He ate all of the farmer’s machinery, but then the farmers trapped him with the help of Hogarth. We wrote a diary entry about this bit, thinking about how Hogarth felt proud and brave, but also guilty and ashamed.

In maths we’ve been learning and using our 9 and 7 times tables. We learned a few tricks for the nines, including using our fingers and using the ten times table to help. There are similar tricks for the 7s and 6s that we can use.

In PE with Mr B we did gymnastics including some really tricky moves like the splits (not all of us can do them – Mr B can’t!) and forward rolls. The boys have played in a Yr 5 football match where they did really well to only lose 5-2 and they also played in a Yr 6(!) tournament where they came second!!! The girls have also played in a Yr 6 match and did really well to only lose 2-1.

Last week’s Learner of the Week was Henry and this week was George.
